LI Weekend Weather: Thunderstorms, Fog Possible
Mother Nature will shower Long Island with rain and possibly thunderstorms this Earth Day weekend.

LONG ISLAND, NY — Although Long Island has enjoyed a week of sunny skies, don't put away your rain boots just yet.
After Friday's high of 65, rain will return at night after about 11 p.m, according to the National Weather Service.
Mother Nature will shower Long Island with more rain and possibly thunderstorms on Earth Day, this Saturday.

Heavy rainfall should be expected from the storms, with an 80 percent chance of precipitation. Rain will continue into Sunday with a 60 percent chance of precipitation.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 65. Southeast wind 6 to 10 mph.
Friday Night: Patchy drizzle with a slight chance of showers after 11pm. Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 50. East wind around 10 mph.
Saturday: A 20 percent chance of showers after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 63. Southeast wind 10 to 13 mph.
Saturday Night: A chance of thunderstorms before 8pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 8pm and 2am, then showers after 2am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Patchy fog before midnight. Low around 51. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Sunday: Showers likely, mainly before 8am. The rain could be heavy at times. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 65. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
Sunday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 45.
Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 60.
