LONG ISLAND, NY — Warm, spring weather is here to stay this week on Long Island.

After Monday morning's fog, skies will gradually become sunny and reach 65 degrees.

The National Weather Service declared a Special Weather Statement, stating that widespread fog with visibilities one mile or less continue across the region this morning.

The fog may be locally dense at times, with reduced visibilities as low as one-fourth mile or less, especially closer to the coast. It is expected to part before 1 p.m.

Tuesday's high will be near 56 degrees, but the temperature will increase throughout the week, reaching a high of 69 degrees on Friday.

Friday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52.
