LONG ISLAND, NY — After warm and sunny consecutive weather, Long Islanders can expect a return of rain this weekend.

Friday will continue to stay warm, with a high near 75. Showers will return on Saturday, with a chance of thunderstorms after 5 p.m.

Clouds are expected to be in Sunday's forecast, with rain returning again at night.

The National Weather Service continues to address its Hazardous Weather Outlook for Thursday in Suffolk County. The dry conditions can cause potential elevated brush fires, the service said.

The warning also affects southern Connecticut and northeast New Jersey and southeast New York.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 60.

Sunday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49.
