ICYMI: Mom Leaves 2 Young Kids In Car, Shops At Walmart, Cops Say

LEVITTOWN, NY — A Bethpage woman was recently arrested after police said she left two young children alone in a running vehicle outside a Walmart store in Levittown. Police were called Tuesday night after witnesses saw the kids inside an idling car in the fire lane at 3335 Hempstead Turnpike.
Patrol officers found a 3-year-old strapped into a car seat and a 9-year-old sitting in the back seat. The keys were in the ignition and the engine was running. The officers entered the vehicle through an unlocked door.
