Arrest Made in Thurs. Fire in West Babylon
Teenager charged with arson after setting fire on school field.

Suffolk County Police have made an arrest in a fire set yesterday afternoon at John F. Kennedy Elementary School in West Babylon.
According to NewsLI.com, a 16-year old boy was arrested for setting a blaze on the school's playground. Luckily, the blaze was contained and extinguished by the West Babylon Fire Department, located down the street, within a short time.
The fire reportedly did not damage the nearby jungle gym or swing set and was set in an open portion of the field.
The boy, whose name was not released, is being charged with Arson in the fifth degree and criminal mischief.
Many Lindenhurst residents reported seeing the billowing tower of dark, black smoke rising over West Babylon yesterday to Patch.com as the fire erupted yesterday afternoon.
According to police, no one was injured in the blaze.
