LINDENHURST, NY — Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School student Vaiva Kean has been chosen as an alternate for chorus at the New York State School Music Association’s All-State Festival, district officials said.

She was selected based on her exceptional audition at the NYSSMA solo festival. If chosen, Kean will travel to Rochester, New York, in December to perform with other top musicians in New York State.
