July 8 Lindy Edition: Live Music

TGIF, Lindenhurst! It’s another hazy, hot, humid summer day, with some thunderstorms and showers being predicted for this afternoon, according to local weather forecasters, that are supposed to bring a break in the humidity for the weekend.

So here are some to help you stay cool and healthy during the summer heat. Be sure to check out of a South Shore beach, too.

1. There are several events happening at the , including Summer Preschool Hour today at and and at 11 a.m. See the LML website for more details and events.

2. a Chicago tribute band, will take the stage at at as part of the Town of Babylon’s .

3. Tonight is steak night at the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1421. The fourth district breakfast in Riverhead will take place Sunday, too.

4. The Hat Project will play at the Paradise Lounge in nearby West Islip tonight at from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. for happy hour. The band features Ed “The Hat” on drums and vocals, Tim Castoro of Lindenhurst’s own Highway 49 on guitar and vocals and Lindy’s own of Highway 49 on bass guitar and vocals.

5. Stir Crazy will take the stage at Village Square on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. as part of the VOL’s .

6. There’s also the Saturday Night Sunset Drumming Circle at Venetian Shores Beach from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on the east side of the beach in front of the picnic tables. It’ll run until August 27.

7. will be at on Sunday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

8. St. Paul’s Reformed Church in nearby North Babylon has started a weekly Feeding Ministry on Fridays in July. The next one is tonight at The purpose is to provide a meal for the hungry. For more information e-mail or call the church at 631-661-5562.
