LIRR Adds Service for Holiday Rush
Six additional trains will run on the Babylon Branch, which includes Lindenhurst, on Friday afternoon.

The Long Island Railroad is providing extra service Friday for local commuters looking to beat the rush out of New York City and get a head start on the holiday weekend.
On the Babylon Branch, which includes Lindenhurst, the LIRR is adding six additional trains to its schedule Friday afternoon:
- 1:28 p.m. express to Rockville Centre, then all stops to Babylon
- 1:53 p.m. stopping at Jamaica, Rockville Centre, then all stops to Babylon
- 2:17 p.m. express to Rockville Centre, then all stops to Babylon
- 2:24 p.m. express to Lynbrook, then all stops to Babylon
- 3 p.m. stopping at Jamaica, Rockville Centre, then all stops to Babylon
- 3:31 p.m. express to Rockville Centre, then all stops to Babylon
In addition, on Saturday and Sunday, the LIRR will be operating its full complement of weekend/holiday trains.

Over the weekend the railroad’s Family Fare program will be in effect throughout the weekend. With the Family Fare, up to four children ages five to 11 could ride weekend off-peak trains for the advance purchase fare of $0.75 per child each way when accompanied by a fare-paying parent or guardian. Weekly and monthly ticket-holders just pay for the kids. Children younger than five years old ride free on the LIRR.

Customers could also contact the LIRR's Travel Information Center at 718-217-5477 (LIRR). Hearing-impaired customers could use their preferred relay service provider or the free 711 relay to reach the MTA at 511 or the LIRR at 718-217-5477.
