Man Accused Of Stabbing Wife To Death In Lindenhurst: Police

Suffolk police allege he then crashed a vehicle into a building nearby.

LINDENHURST, NY — A Lindenhurst resident is accused of fatally stabbing his wife and then crashing into a building Wednesday night, police said.

Suffolk County police officers responded to a call about a stabbing at 171 South 14th St. at 8:30 p.m.

According to Suffolk County police, Ryszard Murawski stabbed his wife, Wioleta Murawski, outside their home. Ryszard Murawski then fled and crashed his vehicle into a building on New York Avenue and West Hoffman Avenue in Lindenhurst, police said.

Wioleta Murawski, 38, was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

The 44-year-old was arrested by First Precinct patrol officers and transported to a local hospital, police said.

Charges by Homicide Squad detectives are expected upon Murawski’s release from the hospital, police said.
