What's happening includes a SEPTA meeting, clothing drive, youth volleyball registration and yoga for all.

Welcome to the first full week of Lindenhurst Patch! March is winding down, hopefully prepared to go out like a lamb.

But before that happens there are several things you need to know today.

So, here’s today’s top five:

1. The Lindenhurst Middle School (LMS) PTA is holding a from 6 a.m. to noon. Funds raised will go toward the LMS PTA, so it’s asking for donations of unwanted used clothing and domestics. The drop-off container is located near north side of the LMS. It runs daily.

2. Special Education Parent Teacher Association (SEPTA) meets tonight at E.W. Bower Elementary at 7:30 p.m.

3. Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH) Catholic Youth League (CYO) registration for volleyball ends March 29. It runs from April to June for boy and girls in grades four to six on Saturday afternoons, and for boys and girls in grades seven to 12 on weeknights. Registration costs $30 and includes a uniform shirt. OLPH CYO expects a waiting list due to a shortage of coaches. First come, first served, according to OLPH CYO.

4. Stretch out at ’s (LML) class tonight from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. According to the LML, certified Yoga instructor Paula Siegler will conduct a gentle yoga workshop suitable for all fitness levels, that focuses on the benefits of yoga for good health.

5. Village residents south of the LIRR on a Monday-Thursday pick-up cycle will have their garbage picked up as usual today. Garbage needs to be put out by 7 a.m., but not before 7 p.m. the evening before pick-up, according to the village. North Lindenhurst residents serviced by the Town of Babylon and on a Monday-Thursday pick-up cycle will have their regular garbage pick-up today. Refuse needs to be out no earlier than 1 p.m. the day before pick-up.
