Murder Charge For Man Accused Of Stabbing Wife, Crashing Truck: Police

The Lindenhurst man was charged after he was released from the hospital, police said Friday.

LINDENHURST, NY — Suffolk police Homicide Squad detectives have charged Ryszard Murawski with second-degree murder after his release from the hospital.

Police allege the Lindenhurst resident stabbed his wife, Wioleta Murawski, outside their 171 South 14th St. home at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Murawski then fled — and crashed his vehicle into a building on New York Avenue and West Hoffman Avenue, police said.

First Precinct patrol officers arrested Murawski, 44, who was taken to a local hospital, police said. Wioleta Murawski, 38, was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, where she was pronounced dead.
