The Town of Babylon Department of Parks and Recreation has been offering the First Tee Summer Golf Academy this Summer, which was specifically designed for children ages 5 through 15.

First Tee is a youth development program that teaches education, fitness, wellness and life skills to children using golf and its inherent values as context.

These lessons for life are taught through a variety of golf-related exercises designed with the primary goal of having fun.

All participants receive The First Tee Card so their progress could be monitored as they advance through The First Tee certification levels of Par, Birdie, Eagle, and Ace. Each stage introduces young people to different aspects of golf and life skills.

Advancing from one level to the next is accomplished by demonstrating acquired life skills, learning the rules of golf, posting a required number of rounds on the golf course and having the recommendation of the instructor.
