Police: Lindenhurst Man Charged with Robbery
Nassau Police say Irving Casillas, 38, allegedly pushed down a woman in Woodbury and took her purse.

A Lindenhurst man was arrested by Nassau Police over the weekend and charged with robbery.
According to the NCPD's Second Squad, Irving Casillas, 38, was nabbed on Friday morning after allegedly pushing a woman down to the ground and taking her purse in Woodbury.
Second Squad detectives said at 9:50 a.m. on June 29 Casillas and another unknown male white subject drove a 48-year-old female victim, who was an acquaintance, to conduct some banking.

Police said after the transaction was completed the defendant and subject returned the victim to her residence.
The victim, according to police, exited the vehicle followed by the defendant.

Detectives said Casillas purportedly pushed her to the ground, removing her purse, and then re-entered the vehicle and fled the scene.
No injuries were reported, police noted.
The defendant surrendered to the Second Squad, according to Detective Perna, and was charged with robbery in the third degree.
He was set to be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Saturday, June 30.
