Students Win School Transportation Poster Contest

Students' submissions for state bus safety contest "At My Stop – You Stop!"

Congratulations to the transportation poster contest winners whose artwork was entered in the New York State School Bus Safety Poster contest, sponsored by the New York Association for Pupil Transportation Suffolk County Chapter. The contest’s slogan was “At My Stop – You Stop.”

William Rall second-grader Melissa Giraldo won a $100 check for her first place entry in the grade K-2 category. West Gates fifth-grader Alex Klepadlo won a $50 check for his third place submission in the grade 3-5 category.

Other Lindenhurst students who received a Certificate of Participation included West Gates students Neiko Chionchio, Marissa Howard, Ty Steffen and Danielle Walsh; Harding students Kali Maroney and Emma Wilmer; Rall’s Atahan Yetimoglu; and Albany’s Ashley Clark.

“Many thanks to all the elementary students who submitted entries in the transportation poster contest,” said transportation coordinator Theresa Sandberg. The posters are currently on display at the McKenna Administration Building at 350 Daniel Street.
