Talk Back Poll: Should the LHS Graduation Be Moved?

At last week's Lindenhurst Board of Education meeting, some residents asked that the graduation ceremony be moved to avoid a shortened ceremony like this year's. What do you think, Lindy?

This year's weather-shortened graduation ceremony on prompted discussion at the Board of Education about moving the ceremony.

After students gave the speeches that were cut due to the shortened ceremony and the district and BOE was pressured to explain the decision not to postpone to the rain date on June 23, some parents and residents in attendance on suggested the ceremony be moved inside.

It sparked a short discussion about the district's attempt to do so several years ago. When it tried to move it inside to a venue like Hofstra, there was community outcry, citing that it'd break the tradition of graduating on the same field at the as their parents and grandparents.

However, the advantages of moving the ceremony include the venue being larger and requiring no rain date.
