2 Brooklyn Men Accused Of Having Illegal Drugs
Police said they were stopped for a traffic violation on the Thruway.

NEWBURGH, NY — Two Brooklyn men were accused of having illegal drugs after being stopped on the Thruway.
The New York State Police said, around 1:20 p.m. Jan. 9, troopers patrolling Interstate 87 in the town of Newburgh said they saw a 2017 Toyota Camry in violation of state vehicle and traffic law traveling north.
Police said the driver was identified as Andrew Caesar, 43. His passenger was Maxwell Coddett, 46. Both men were from Brooklyn.

While troopers were speaking with them, police said they saw a clear bag containing multicolored pills, later found to be MDMA.
A search of the car yielded a bag of multicolored MDMA pills weighing about 94 grams, two clear plastic bags containing crack-cocaine weighing about 125 grams, numerous blue oxycodone hydrochloride pills, brown OxyContin pills, blue alprazolam pills, pink oxycodone hydrochloride pills, blue amphetamine and dextroamphetamine pills, numerous clear plastic bags containing cannabis, weighing about 210 grams, and a digital scale.

Caesar and Coddett were both charged with:
- Two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, felonies
- Three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, felonies
- Two counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, felonies
- Five counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanors
- Two counts of criminal use of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanors
- Unlawful possession of cannabis, a violation
The men were taken to the Orange County Jail, where they were arraigned and remanded without bail.
