3rd-Prize Winning Powerball Ticket Sold In Mid-Hudson Valley
The ticket is worth $100,000 because a Power Play multiplier was purchased.

NEWBURGH, NY — One of two third-prize winning Power Play tickets — each worth $100,000 — was sold in the Hudson Valley.
New York Lottery officials said the winning ticket for the Jan. 25 Powerball drawing was purchased at Smokes 4 Less in Newburgh.
The second ticket was sold in South Setauket, Suffolk County.

Whoever bought the tickets purchased the Power Play multiplier for the Wednesday drawing. The multiplier was 2, which means the third place prize was doubled to $100,000.
Winning numbers for the Jan. 25 Powerball drawing are 9-17-20-38-40 with a Powerball of 18.

The numbers for the Powerball game are drawn from a field of one to 69. The Powerball number is drawn from a separate field of one to 26.
Powerball drawings are televised every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 11 p.m.
Officials said the jackpot for the Saturday night drawing is an estimated $572 million.
