ATV Breaks Through Ice Of Hudson Valley Lake

Two people from Pennsylvania were ticketed for unauthorized motor vehicle use on state land.

ROCKLAND, NY — An all-terrain vehicle doesn’t necessarily mean all terrain, especially when it comes to ice.

A retired forest ranger reported that an ATV broke through the ice Dec. 20 on Waneta Lake in Willowemoc Wild Forest.

Another forest ranger responded and issued tickets to two people from Pennsylvania.

Officials said a tow company removed the ATV from the lake.
