Company ID'ing Itself As Fishkill Police Asks Businesses For Donations
The Town of Fishkill Police Department said it will never sell, solicit or make any requests for donations by phone.
FISHKILL, NY — The Town of Fishkill Police Department is warning the public that it is the subject of a scam.
The department said, in a Facebook post, that it was made aware that local businesses have been targeted by a company identifying itself as the Town of Fishkill Police Department.
The scammers are asking for donations on behalf of the police department.

Police said scammers can often look and sound very real.
“At no time will the department sell, solicit or make any requests for donations by phone,” the police department said.

If you have received a call from someone claiming to be the Fishkill town police asking for money, it is a scam, authorities said.
You should note the phone number and time of day, hang up immediately and call the Fishkill town police at 845-831-1110.
