Fatal Collision In Town Of Woodbury

Police said a 2014 Freightliner box truck and a 2012 Ford Econoline van crashed head on Thursday morning.

WOODBURY, NY — The crash of a box truck and van claimed two lives in the town of Woodbury.

The New York State Police said the collision happened around 9 a.m. Thursday on Route 32 near Falls Lane in Woodbury.

An investigation found that a 2014 Freightliner box truck and a 2012 Ford Econoline van crashed head on.

Police said the driver of the box truck, Clive Booth, 48, of Goshen, was taken to Westchester Medical Center where he later died.

The driver of the van, Pedro Lorenzo Gutierrez-Lacon, 29, of Spring Valley, died at the scene.

Authorities said five passengers in the van were taken to local hospitals with serious injuries.

State police said troopers are working to identify all the passengers in the van.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, police said.

The New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit, Woodbury Police Department and Woodbury Fire Department assisted at the scene.

State police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call SP Monroe at 845-782-8311.
