Motorcyclist Killed In Crash With SUV In Hudson Valley
Police said the collision is still under investigation.
CATSKILL, NY — An Ulster County motorcyclist was killed Friday when an SUV turned directly in front of him on a highway in the town of Catskill.
The New York State Police said, around 4 p.m. Friday, troopers responded to Route 32 near the intersection of Game Farm Road in Catskill for a report of a serious car/motorcycle crash.
Police said the preliminary investigation found that a 2015 Mercedes GLA250 SUV, driven by Vilma Lawson, 58, of Norwalk, Connecticut, was traveling north on Route 32.

Traveling south on Route 32 was a 2001 Harley Davidson Motorcycle, operated by Daniel J. Talk, 26, of Saugerties.
Lawson turned left to enter Game Farm Road directly in front of Valk’s motorcycle, which struck the front passenger side of the SUV, police said.

Valk was ejected from the motorcycle.
When the trooper got to the scene, there were three motorists performing CPR on Valk.
The trooper immediately started lifesaving measures, and paramedics took over when they arrived.
Police said Valk was unable to be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities said this is an ongoing investigation.
