Man Sought In Midtown Sexual Assaults: Police

Police said that one man is behind at least three separate gropes in Midtown and Union Square.

MIDTOWN, NY — One man is now believed to be responsible for groping three women in Midtown and Union Square, police said.

On Oct. 15, the creep first targeted a 19-year-old woman as she walked on West 40th Street near Fifth Avenue at about 9:35 a.m., walking up behind her and grabbing her buttocks, police said.

His next strike was on the city's transit system, police said.

The victim, a 33-year-old woman, was walking through the 34 Street - Herald Square subway station at about 6:45 p.m. on Saturday when the gray-haired man approached her from behind, according to officials.

He then grabbed the woman's buttocks and then fled to another part of the station, officials say. Police added that the man was last seen elsewhere inside the station.

On Nov. 1 at about 2 p.m., the man found his next victim inside the Regal Union Square Movie Theater on Broadway, grabbing the buttocks of a 39-year-old woman, police said.

Officials couldn't confirm if the attack occurred inside of a theater or the lobby.

Police included an image of the man from the first incident and asked that anyone with information in regard to these incidents is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
