Midtown Fire Breaks Out In High-Rise Building, FDNY Says
The fire broke out in a high-rise on Seventh Avenue between west 37th and 38th streets.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — An electrical fire broke out in a midtown high-rise building Thursday afternoon, an FDNY spokesman said.
Firefighters responded to the 45-story building at 512 Seventh Ave., located between West 37th and 38th streets, shortly after 3 p.m., fire officials said. Fire was reported on the building's twelfth and thirteenth floors, according to officials. The fire was placed under control around 4:15 p.m., fire officials said.
The FDNY dispatched its standard high-rise response, which involves more emergency vehicles and personnel than a low-rise fire.
