Woman, 27, Dies in Fall From Roof in Hell's Kitchen

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — Police are still searching for clues after a woman died in a fall from a roof in Hell's Kitchen on Sunday morning.

The NYPD said they found Elena Gladkikh, 27, on the street outside 449 W. 37th St. at 8:45 a.m. on Sunday. A police spokesman said she was killed when she fell off the roof of the building, but investigators were still looking into how the accident happened. Police said it did not appear to be a suicide. The New York Post reported the woman had been drinking.

The unconscious woman was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where she later died of her injuries, police said. The medical examiner will determine how she died.

Gladkikh lived on the second floor of the building.
