1. A tractor trailer crashed into the median in the eastbound lane near exit 64 on the Long Island Expressway in Medford early Monday morning. No serious injuries were reported. (Patch)
2. Weiss Instruments LLC, a manufacturer of temperature gauges and thermometers for the HVAC industry and other manufacturers, announced it will close its Holtsville shop on Aug. 30, laying off 54 workers. The layoffs begin June 30. (Subscription: Newsday)
3. A Queens man was arrested on Sunday in Hauppauge for fleeing police and reckless driving. Michael Beyer was in a 2014 Nissan 370Z Coupe next to a second vehicle preparing to race on Commerce Drive. (Smithtown Matters)
