- One person was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Holtsville, police say, on a service road near the Long Island Expressway. There was no information on the victim or a description of the wanted vehicle given yet. (News 12)
- Police are looking for a man and a woman for stealing a woman’s wallet out of a shopping cart at Whole Foods in Lake Grove on Thursday, Feb. 24. They later tried using credit cards found in the wallet to buy items from a Target and Best Buy in Centereach. (Daily Voice)
- Stony Brook University announced they are launching a new major initiative to improve diversity in STEM careers. The university will offer 50 scholarships to students from underrepresented backgrounds beginning Fall 2023. (Patch)
