  1. Eight dogs who were saved threats of death from a Mexican drug cartel arrived on Long Island. The Southampton Animal Shelter took in four of the dogs, two went to the Kent Animal Shelter in Calverton and two went to Bideawee in Westhampton Beach. (Patch)
  2. Construction has started on the 292-housing-unit Arboretum at Farmingville. It will take less than three years to complete, with the first units being ready in around a year, according to JLL Capital Markets. (Patch)
  3. The Islip Terrace MS-13 female gang member nicknamed "Diablita" has been found guilty of conspiring to kill four men in 2017. Leniz "Diablita"Escobar, 22, member of the Leeward Locos Salvatruchas clique of La Mara Salvatrucha, was convicted for her involvement in the murders of Justin Llivicura, Michael Lopez, Jorge Tigre and Jefferson Villalobos.
