Here are the top three stories in Miller Place-Rocky Point today:
- A motorcyclist died in a crash with a car in East Northport on Thursday. Paul Decembre, 23, of Greenlawn, was riding a 2001 Suzuki motorcycle southbound when he collided with a 2019 Honda Accord. The driver of the car was not injured. (Patch)
- A Riverhead man pleaded guilty Thursday to second-degree manslaughter for crashing into a Flanders home in December and killing his passenger, driving while intoxicated. Santiago Monzon-Archila, 40, had almost twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system, according to the district attorney's office. (Patch)
- The Maker Faire Long Island will come back to Port Jefferson Village after two years off due to the pandemic. Hosted by the Long Island Explorium, the Maker Faire is a science fair with exhibits from the Long Island Droid Builders, Brookhaven National Laboratory, robotics teams from Ward Melville and Bethpage and The Ginny Marie Schooner, a 50-foot wooden sailing ship docked in Port Jefferson Harbor.
