- An MS-13 gang member pleaded guilty to participating in the 2019 fatal ambush of a 15-year-old boy in Central Islip. Lidia DelCarmen-Rodriguez, an associate of the Leeward Locos Salvatruchas clique of MS-13, was part of a group that targeted victim Jasson Medrano-Molina because they believed he was a member of the rival 18th Street Gang. - A Hampton Bays man was arrested for leaving his dog in a car that hit 103.8 degrees. Someone saw the dog showing signs of "severe distress" in a vehicle parked at Tony's Tubs on Montauk Highway. (Patch)
- A red-tailed hawk has attacked two more people on Wednesday in Northport. The principal of the Weekday Nursery School located at a Northport church said the bird has held the school hostage. (News 12)
