DeSena Fends Off Challenge From Kerpen To Remain North Hempstead Supervisor
DeSena will be serving her third term starting in January.

NORTH HEMPSTEAD, NY. — North Hempstead Town Supervisor Jennifer DeSena brought home 55.62 percent of the vote in Tuesday’s election, defeating Democrat challenger Dave Kerpen to win her third term in the role.
Kerpen collected 44.28 percent of the vote, or 23,123 votes, while DeSena’s total vote amounted to 29,046, accordig to the unofficial vote by the Nassau County Board of Elections. Among her successes from her first two terms, DeSena lists consecutive tax cuts in the town and the kickstarting of sustainability initiatives using grant funds. One year before being elected, the Town of Hempstead named her to the May Newburger Women’s Roll of Honor.
With DeSena’s election, each of Nassau County’s three town supervisors are republican. DeSena joins Joseph Saladino of Oyster Bay and John Ferretti of Hempstead, who also won election Tuesday.

Results in the election are unofficial until certified by the County Board of Elections. Further information on all of Tuesday’s elections can be found through the Nassau County Board of Elections and the New York State Board of Elections.
