Two Long Island parents gave birth to identical triplets, a rare occurrence that only happens once in every one million births.

As you can imagine, Brightwaters residents Kelli and Jason Fenley did not expect to become pregnant with identical triplets. Kelli was told by her ob/gyn that she was having twins last December, but when she returned for a follow-up visit the next week, she found out the shocking surprise.

Dr. Chavez and his team at Winthrop Hospital in Mineola brought the three baby boys into this world on July 1.

Owen Michael (2 pounds 14 ounces,) Noah Charles (2 pounds 15 ounces) and Miles John (2 pounds 12 ounces) are now adjusting to life at home with their 2-year-old brother Aidan.

Having triplet babies and a 2-year-old at home won’t be easy. Kelli, 33, an assistant school principal, and Jason, 38, an attorney, traded in their truck for a minivan and will get hands on assistance from Kelli’s sister and mother-in law.

The babies will stay on their hospital schedule of eating every three hours and taking naps after every meal.

After hearing about the Fenley’s story, retailer buybuy BABY® donated a gift card to the family and presented it to them on Thursday. The donation will come in handy with buying three pairs of clothing items for many years to come.
