Man Arrested After Intentionally Damaging Nassau Police Vehicles: PD

He's accused of placing tire spikes in the roadway near Nassau police facilities, resulting in the damage to multiple department vehicles.

MINEOLA, NY — A Mineola man who intentionally damaged multiple vehicles, including those belonging to Nassau County police, has been charged with criminal mischief, according to authorities.

Manuel C. Reis, 59, was arrested Friday afternoon in Mineola. Nassau County police said he was arrested after detectives launched an investigation into five separate incidents of criminal mischief between May 11 and July 11.

Reis is accused of placing tire spikes in the roadway near Nassau County police facilities, resulting in the damage to multiple department vehicles, as well as a woman's personal vehicle.

He has been charged with multiple counts of criminal mischief, as well as obstructing governmental administration. His arraignment date is Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
