Man Arrested In Connection With Several Mineola Burglaries: PD

The 32-year-old man was arrested after officers found him hiding in the ceiling of a business he broke into, police said.

MINEOLA, NY β€” Nassau County police have arrested a man they say is behind several burglaries in the Mineola area.

Emmanuel Rosario, 32, of Brooklyn, was taken into custody after officers responded to a call for a burglary in progress at 90-13 Jericho Turnpike Monday evening.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a broken front window. More first responders and K9 units were dispatched to the scene, according to police, and they were able to locate Rosario hiding in the ceiling. He was arrested without incident.

According to authorities, a subsequent investigation determined that Rosario was responsible for several other incidents that day, including:

  • Mamma Gina's Pizza β€” 61 2nd St., Mineola (burglary)
  • BP Gas Station β€” 91 Jericho Turnpike, Mineola (burglary, criminal mischief)
  • Venezia's Garden Center β€” 110 Jericho Turnpike, Mineola (criminal mischief, criminal trespass, petit larceny)

Police have charged Rosario with third-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief, third-degree criminal mischief, third-degree criminal trespass, and petit larceny. He is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Hempstead on Wednesday.
