Voters Approve Mineola Budget, Elect Trustees

Residents headed to the polls Tuesday to vote on a school budget and elect board members.

Mineola residents approved a 2018-19 school budget on Tuesday.

The $98,195,2002 budget passed with 553 yes votes and 229 no votes, according to the school district. The budget is a 3.97 percent spending increase over the current year and it comes with a 1.96 percent tax levy increase.

Residents also re-elected Christine Napolitano and Brian Widman, who ran unopposed, to the Mineola Board of Education.
