Mineola Students Honor Veterans Through Crafts
Hampton Street School kindergarteners create craft soldiers to honor veterans.
In an effort to reinforce to students what Veterans Day is and to connect the holiday to their culture, Mineola students in the universal pre-K program at Hampton Street School created crafts to honor the day.
Each student glued together pieces of construction paper to form a soldier and then attached little thank-you notes to each one.
The craft activity, done by Christine O’Grady’s morning and afternoon sessions, will be sent to local veterans.
