GARDEN CITY, NY — The rape trial of actor Danny Masterson, a Nassau County native, has ended in a deadlock. A Los Angeles judge declared a mistrial on Wednesday, multiple media outlets reported, after the jury failed to reach a verdict after deliberating since Nov. 15.

Masterson, best known for his role on "That '70s Show," was accused of raping three women in the early 2000s. The women claimed during the trial that because of their involvement in the Church of Scientology, they were discouraged from pressing charges at the time.

Masterson, 46, attended Garden City High School and grew up in Garden City and East Williston. He is a practicing Scientologist. He is married to actress Bijou Philips, and they have one daughter.
