More Than $2 Million Stolen From Missing Nassau Couple's Bank Account: Feds

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — Two people were arrested in California last week on federal charges in connection with stealing more than $2 million this summer from a couple who disappeared from their Old Brookville mansion earlier this year, court documents reveal.
Qiuju Wu lives in Flushing; Yinye Wang has a residence in Roslyn, authorities said.
According to court documents, Wang and Wu conspired to execute a scheme to defraud a bank, authorities said.

The investigation has revealed that Wang and Wu conspired to steal from the victims by submitting fraudulent documents to the bank, authorities said.
As of June 29, the WU Bank Account had approximately $1,919.26. But in the ensuing days, more than $1 million was transferred out of the Victim-1 bank account into the WU Bank Account, prosecutors say.

In the ensuing days, the court document says, more than $2 million was transferred out of the victims’ accounts, officials said. On or about July 2, 2025, $860,000 was transferred from the Victim-2 bank account, prosecutors allege.
Wu is being detained by ICE, the U.S. attorney's office said.
No date has been scheduled for when Wang and Wu will appear at the courthouse in the Eastern District of New York.
