County Legislator Seth Koslow (D-Merrick) announced his bid to oppose Blakeman last fall.

During the campaign, Blakeman has been focused upon public safety and keeping taxes low, while Koslow, has vowed to maintain transparency and prioritize affordability.

On Monday, President Donald Trump endorsed Blakeman on Truth Social, stating that he is "100% MAGA" and that he "is working tirelessly with the Brave Heroes of Law Enforcement, ICE, and Border Patrol to Safeguard our Communities, Ensure LAW AND ORDER, Defend our always under seige Second Amendment, Keep our now very Secure Border, SECURE, End Migrant Crime, and and Stop Communism from ruining our once Great Cities."

Blakeman replied on Twitter: "Blessed to have the support of President @realDonald Trump who secured our borders is killing drug cartels who are poisoning our kids and protecting American jobs!"

Meanwhile, Blakeman's opponent Koslow fired backon Instagram Monday: "Bruce Blakeman went running to Donald Trump asking for an endorsement, but not for the people of Nassau County. If Bruce really wanted to stand up for Long Island, he would’ve asked Trump to restore our SALT deductions so middle-class homeowners could finally catch a break on their property taxes," he wrote. "He would’ve asked Trump to fund SNAP so struggling families don’t have to choose between groceries and gas. He would’ve demanded real federal help to fix our roads, protect our shoreline from flooding, and keep housing affordable for our kids.Instead, Blakeman asked for one thing and one thing only, political help for himself. While he’s busy chasing Trump’s approval, Long Islanders are chasing affordable mortgages, childcare they can actually afford, and a government that puts them first."

Koslow added: "Once again, Bruce Blakeman is proving he’ll do anything for his own career, and nothing for the people he was elected to serve. On Tuesday, Long Islanders will tell Bruce Blakeman and Donald Trump enough is enough."
