'Old Antisemitic Slur' Aimed At Blakeman Is 'Despicable': Spokesperson
The county executive was depicted in a mailer by the local Civil Service Employees Association union as a devil with horns.

MINEOLA, NY — As Jews prepare for the holiest and most solemn day on the calendar, a local union raised the ire of Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, as he was depicted as a devil.
The Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA) Local 1000 stated in its recent mailer that Blakeman is "trying to replace your negotiated health insurance with a sub-par insurance plan behind your back."
"The Devil is in the Details," the headline said. Blakeman is shown with red horns on his head, an apparent Halloween reference above his visage: "Don't be Tricked," according to Blakeman's office.

“With all of the antisemitism that is present, it is despicable that on the eve of the holiest Jewish holiday, the CSEA employee union would depict County Executive Blakeman, who is a Jew, with horns which is an old antisemitic slur," Chris Boyle, Director of Communications for Blakeman. "Blakeman will not capitulate to the union’s demands for a different healthcare provider that they didn’t bargain for, which would cost taxpayers tens of millions of dollars."
Patch attempted to get a response from a union representative.
