'Park on Patch' for Small Business Saturday in Mineola

As the old saw goes: 'Free is better than cheap.'

And what a better way to commemorate that than supporting local business. Patch.com has teamed up with American Express to help promote Saturday, Nov. 30 as “Small Business Saturday” in Mineola. 

Patch will provide free parking this Saturday on a significant portion of Jericho Turnpike between Horton Highway and Columbus Parkway in order to promote the theme of buying local.

Shoppers are encouraged to get out, celebrate local retail businesses and shop.

"I think the Mineola Patch and the village had the wherewithal and the smarts to come up with this idea about allowing the people to park for free (for) our small businesses which is what the chamber is all about," Mineola Chamber of Commerce Bill Greene said. "It's shopping locally, keeping the money in local villages and... that they're able to afford this and allow people to park is definitely, I think it's going to be a win-win for the village and for the business owners for sure; I think it's a great thing."

Patch and American Express will be giving away Small Business Saturday merchandise all day on Jericho Turnpike on Saturday, Nov. 30. Look for our big green table!
