Protesters Brave Rain In Nassau To Demand Trump, Musk Keep 'Hands Off'

It was part of nationwide series of protests against policies in the Trump White House.

MINEOLA, NY — Despite unseasonably cool temperatures with sporadic rain, crowds gathered on Saturday for the "Hands Off" protest in Mineola.

It was part of a nationwide protest aimed at President Trump and Elon Musk.

When the weather permitted, protesters were able to display signs. Although many came prepared with their thoughts on umbrellas, such as "Hands Off: My Body, The Constitution, Health Care [and] Voting Rights."

Amid the tariffs announcement and the stock market free fall, another sign referred to MAGA as "My Assets Gone Away."

Congressman Tom Suozzi was among those in attendance outside the Legislative Building.

Other signs held by the protesters said: "Coercion is Not Leadership," "Hands Off Immigration, "Make America a Democracy Again," Hands Off Social Security: I Worked For It!" and "Hands Off Libraries."
