A 30-year-old Congers man was indicted last week for attacking a Rockland resident and later a police officer, District Attorney Thomas Zugibe said.
Matthew Hecht of 128 Waters Edge was indicted by a grand jury for forcing his way into a victim's home and wrestling with the victim last November, Zugibe said. Hecht broke one of the victim's teeth and and one of his ribs, and also injured the victim's shoulder, officials said.
"Police officers responded to the struggle and the defendant attacked the officers," Zugibe added. "One of the officers sustained an injured knee."
