Unsupervised Driver With Learner’s Permit Crashes Into Bardonia Pharmacy: PD
The driver mixed up the gas and brake pedals, according to police.
BARDONIA, NY — A 20-year-old driver with a learner’s permit accidentally crashed into the front of Bardonia Pharmacy, smashing the glass at the front of the business.
The accident happened at the pharmacy, which is at 301 Route 304, Suite 4, on Monday morning, according to the Clarkstown Police Department.
Police said the driver mistakenly accelerated while attempting to park. The business was open at the time of the crash. No one was injured, according to police.

The female driver had been alone in the vehicle at the time. Since she only had a learner’s permit, driving alone is not permitted, and she was issued a summons, police said.
Police did not identify the woman in a Facebook post about the incident.

Nanuet Ambulance and Rockland Paramedics both responded to the scene to assess the driver. The Clarkstown Building Inspector and Fire Inspector responded to evaluate the building.
On Tuesday morning, pharmacy staff said the business is open, fully-operational and ready for customers.
