'Meet Me On Main Street' in New City Returns Saturday

NEW CITY, NY—Meet Me on Main Street in New City is returning this Saturday, Aug. 1 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The Town of Clarkstown and New City Chamber of Commerce are working together to close the section of Main Street from Congers Road to Demarest Avenue to vehicular traffic. Doing so will create space where restaurants in that immediate area, including River Court on Main and San Juan, will serve tables in the street.

According to town officials, Main Street Cafe will also offer outdoor dining just across Congers Road.

After dinner, guests can grab a chair and enjoy a movie. The Lion King will be projected on a screen located on the lawn by the Rockland County Court House beginning at 9 p.m.

"So come on out for a safe and great evening supporting our local businesses!" event organizers said.
