Police: New City Woman Found Asleep at the Wheel Charged with DWI

A New City woman found asleep behind the wheel of a car that was parked in the roadway in West Nyack was charged with drunk driving this morning, according to the Rockland County Sheriff's Department.

Barbara Huggins, 55, of New City was spotted by a Sheriff's officer at about 5:56 a.m.. Police said the officer found that Huggins was intoxicated and she was arrested.

Huggins was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and later released pending an April 29 hearing in Clarkstown Town Court in New City.
