ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY—If you live in Rockland County, and think it's the perfect place to work, relax and raise a family, you're not alone. Nearly two dozen communities recently made Niche.com's "2020 Best Places to Live in Rockland County."

The company ranked Piermont as No.1 and gave it an overall A+.

"Living in Piermont offers residents an urban suburban mix feel and most residents own their homes. In Piermont there are a lot of restaurants, coffee shops, and parks," the company said. "Many retirees live in Piermont and residents tend to lean conservative. The public schools in Piermont are highly rated."

The "2020 Best Places to Live" rankings provides a comprehensive assessment of the overall livability of an area. The grade takes into account several key factors of a location, including the quality of local schools, crime rates, housing trends, employment statistics, and access to amenities in an attempt to measure the overall quality of an area.

Some of the data collected to create the rankings come from the U.S. Census, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Tax Foundation and FBI Uniform Crime Report.
