Rockland Man Indicted for Punching Police Officer

A 31-year-old Spring Valley man has been indicted for punching a police officer in the face, District Attorney Thomas Zugibe told Patch.

Jason Rickens of 19 N. Main Street was indicted for assault in the second degree, resisting arrest and endangering the welfare of a child. Rickens refused to obey police orders during a domestic assault investigation earlier this month, and punched an officer while holding his one-and-a-half-year-old son, Zugibe said.

The officer was treated at a local hospital.
