New City – Vice Chairman of the Rockland County Legislature Alden H. Wolfe presented the Suffern Girls Lacrosse Team with certificates in appreciation of their championship season. The team captured the sectional and regional division titles and went on to compete in the state semi-finals where they were eliminated in a 9-8 loss.
Wolfe told the team that they are a role model and inspiration to young lacrosse players in the district. “I congratulate you on your teamwork, resolve and dedication to your sport,” said Wolfe.
“Congratulations to your coaches and a special thank you to your
parents for their support.”
The recognition took place immediately prior to the June 18th meeting
of the County Legislature. The team remained to lead the legislature in the Pledge of Allegiance to open the meeting.
