40th Annual Rockland Read-In
Spring Valley High School is looking for adult volunteers with a love of books to read to students during the 40th Annual Rockland Read-In. Volunteers are invited to contribute 25 to 30 minutes of their time to read an excerpt from a book that they have personally selected, as well as speak with students about themselves — their career, interests, passions and their personal experience with reading. A teacher will supervise the class during the reading. Volunteers who are fluent in Spanish and other languages are especially encouraged to sign up. Students benefit greatly from having members of the community set such a wonderful example for them. This is a perfect opportunity for college graduates and seniors to share their passion for reading with today's youth.
Date: Feb. 16 from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.; registration ends Feb. 13
