68th Annual Cutchogue Fire Department Chicken Barbecue Unfolds Saturday
The event is a highlight of the season on the North Fork.

CUTCHOGUE, NY — A beloved tradition that stands as a hallmark of summer on the North Fork is back Saturday, as the Cutchogue Fire Department's 68th Chicken Barbecue unfolds with mouthwatering fare and fun for all.
"The summer tradition returns," the Cutchogue Fire Department said, announcing that this year, due to the construction of the new firehouse, the barbecue will once again be held under the tent, "in its traditional format," on the grounds of Peconic Bay Vineyard, located at 31320 Main Road in Cutchogue.
Fire officials told Patch that next year, the beloved barbecue will be back in its normal spot, in the field off New Suffolk Road — directly across from the brand-new firehouse, which is slated to be unveiled next year.

The Cutchogue Fire Department's chicken is so good, in fact, that Martha Stewart raved about it after attending in 1997 — and guests have said for years that it's the best they've ever tasted.
